LEISSON is a producer, artist and DJ from Tallinn and the driving force behind RÄPTEK, a hybrid sub-genre born in Estonia's underground. It fuses hardtek, hardcore, frenchcore, dubcore, dubstep and jungle at 160 to 200 BPM, and it holds on to one rule that sets it apart: the vocals are in Estonian. Live, rappers take the mic while DJs run the decks. [9][4]
The path runs through hard techno. Sets uploaded from 2023 onwards are techno and hard techno, and his Mixcloud profile puts it plainly: "I've never been more in love with an art in my life." In April 2024 he played a hardcore techno set at SUPATEK in Loovruum; by the summer, his Saaremaa Jam 2024 set was tagged hardtek, jungletek and raggatek. In January 2025 he released a RÄPTEK remix of GangBang Familya's "Kriminaalne", inspired by NEOONDREED. [8][7][6][12]
As DARKSSON he goes the opposite way: deep dubstep around 140 BPM, where bass is a physical force rather than a sound. The sets pair meditative journeys with heavy low end, joining the UK dubstep tradition with avant-garde electronic ideas. The first numbered set, DDS1, was recorded at Ü15 in January 2025. [9][5][10]
His dates run through Tallinn's underground: TEK-IT and VABA PULT at Ü15, the closing slot at HOUSE OF HOUSES, the KÕU festival in 2025, and Techno Takeover live shows. In October 2025 he hosted LEISSON.DARKSSON & FAVOURITES, a night handing the decks to ten artists he rates, from deep dubstep to DnB. [4][2][1][14]
